Porterville Unified posted a higher graduation rate than the Tulare County benchmark (85.4%) and the state of California (83.2%) rate.
“We are encouraged by the positive numbers we received today for our graduates,” PUSD Superintendent Dr. Ken Gibbs said. “Our teachers and staff members continue to work diligently to provide a quality education for all of our students. We want our students to have the best opportunity to succeed whether they participate in a post-secondary educational environment or the workplace.”
Out of 1,029 socioeconomically disadvantaged students, PUSD graduated 85.0% (1,029 students) compared to a 76.0% graduation rate in 2009-10.
